Honda Motor Company began its foray into business air travel as early as the 1980s, and its first jet is now almost ready to take to the skies for customers. The five-passenger aircraft is designed with fuel efficiency in mind, from its fuselage made from composite materials to its lightweight aluminum wings. The HondaJet made its first public flight at the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh show in 2005. While only two prototypes currently exist, the company expects to produce about 70 jets per year from its North Carolina headquarters, with delivery set to begin in 2010.
