The Wichita, Kan.-based Learjet Company was bought by Bombardier in 1990. Among the jets manufactured by Bombardier LearJet are the Learjet 45, a mid-range business jet, and the Learjet 60, the largest aircraft in the Learjet family. 314 Learjet 60s were built before production stopped in 1997, but a variation, the Learjet 60XR, was delivered in 2007. Like pretty well every Learjet before it, the new model is notable for its incredible rate of climb on take off.
